These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of pedalchronicle.com (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Pedal Chronicle

Pedal Chronicle is an online service that allows users to track bicycle components and automatically update usage based on connected Strava activity. The Service is currently operated by an individual based in Australia.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Keeping your contact details up to date

We use third-party authentication services (Amazon Cognito). We are not responsible for breaches caused by your own account security practices.

4. Strava Integration

By connecting Strava, you authorise Pedal Chronicle to:

• Access ride distance
• Access athlete and gear identifiers
• Receive activity updates via webhook

We use this data solely to update component usage.

We are not affiliated with Strava and are not responsible for Strava outages, API changes, or service disruptions.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features may require a paid subscription.

Payments will be processed by Stripe (when implemented). All pricing, billing terms, and cancellation details will be shown before purchase.

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled.

Refunds are not guaranteed and may be assessed on a case-by-case basis, subject to applicable law.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Abuse or interfere with the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access
• Reverse engineer or exploit the Service
• Use the Service for unlawful purposes

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Data and Ownership

You retain ownership of your data.

By using the Service, you grant us permission to store and process your data to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your Strava data or cycling data.

8. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uptime.

We may modify features, suspend services, or discontinue parts of the Service.

We are not liable for service interruptions.

9. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".

Pedal Chronicle does not guarantee accuracy of mileage tracking, component wear predictions, or outcomes.

You remain responsible for maintaining your bicycle safely.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss, service outages, inaccurate usage calculations, or damages arising from reliance on the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, abuse, or security risks.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia.
